Joining in again with Ginny over at Small Things for her yarn along!
I finished my owl cushion from last week and it's safely snuggled in a new home! You can see what it looks like finished in this post.
This week I have been working on some unfinished projects that have been lurking around the house (we all have them!).
So I have been finishing up some tea-towel toppers,
I love doing these, they are so quick and easy, I just make it up as I'm going along. They are so practical and make great gifts too.
I crocheted outside today, enjoying the blue sky and a break from the rain,
and played peek-a-boo with Leo. He had a blast watching the birds scratching around in the garden, I love seeing their sense of wonder at the simple things around them.
I also sewed in the ends of a wool blanket I finished some time ago! I really dislike sewing in ends and need to get into the habit of doing it as I go along!
I finished reading Changing Habits, Changing Lives by Cyndi O'Meara, this morning, and I really recommend this book. Cyndi explains in great detail, why the latest low-fat, high protein, no carb diets only give you short term results and why eating food straight from the source whenever possible and staying well clear of anything that has been tampered with by humans or (even worse) wholly produced in a lab, is the best way to achieve long term health and wellness.
So until I start a new book, I'll be flicking through the pages of the Jan/Feb issue of Real Living.

Your owl pillow is so darling...and I've made a few of those tea towels with a crocheted top, but it's been years! That blanket you made is pretty. We've had a lot of rain here, too....but bits of blue sky are sure appreciated, I got to crochet outside for a little outside, too, yesterday!!!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a great book! Thanks for sharing.
everything has such a lovely texture to it...even that little baby

Love the peek a boo picture. I hate weaving in ends too...
ReplyDeleteThat blanket looks lovely... and cozy!
ReplyDeleteI hate weaving in the ends too and feel defeated when they pop out and are visible. My friend recently taught me to split the yarn end into two strands and weave them in separately; it takes longer but I the ends that I have done that way are not that visible. I want to crochet a granny square blanket but thus far have not done so because of the ends-weaving problem. I don't want a blanket with LOTS of ends showing. Any tips? Warm wishes, Kerri
ReplyDeleteThat blanket is really pretty (I hate ends too) and your weather looks amazing right now (it's snowing here).
ReplyDeleteI have only seen snow once!! It would be perfect crochet weather though!!
