Keep Calm, Craft On

I was looking for some sewing inspiration this past weekend, after picking up a  bag of fabric remnants and offcuts for $3.

Trawling through some back posts of my favourite blog, Soulemama, I happened upon the idea for some little log cabin-esque blocks. I thought I could whip up a lovely table runner for our buffet.

A perfect project for me, as it could easily be done without to much exactness!

I have christened this area our Family Space... a place to display photos, art, words of wisdom etc.

Not a place for collecting junk, as it used to be, all of those other bits and pieces have gone into the drawers and cupboards underneath.

I have had fun this week making all sorts of things to "fluff" our nest. I have always dreamed of a home decorated with handmade!

Of course I had a little companion next to me as I sewed! He enjoyed playing with my cottons and eating his afternoon tea....

And in unrelated news..... the Gardenia's are flowering! I think in all we have around 10 plants, all near my clothes line. The smell is intoxicating and I love it!

What have you been creating this week?

  3. You've been very busy Shara - nice to create special spots within the house isn't it. Sounds like you are all feeling very settled in your new place. cheers Wendy
