Where's Wally

I remember loving Book Week when I was at school. We were a book loving family back then, and now my little family loves books too. So what could be more fun than devoting a whole school week to books and reading??

After much discussion with Roman over the weekend, he decided to dress up as Wally from one of his favourite series of books, Where's Wally!

I quickly crocheted him a beanie and made him some pipe cleaner glasses. Kaleb cut him out a cane from a cardboard box... et Viola!

I stayed for parade at his school this morning and watched all the kids show off their outfits.

The only person dressed as Wally, was the school Chaplain.

It was interesting to see the change in costumes as the older grades arrived. The little ones were mostly princesses and Fireman Sam, while the older kids were Harry Potters etc. My favourite was a grade 7 boy, dressed as Gandalf the Grey!

If you could dress up as your favourite book character, who would you choose to be?

I think I'd be Anne of Green Gables!

  2. What a fab costume, as for costumes I'm not sure, my nephews nickname for me is batman but not sure I'd be able to pull that one off, Anne of Green Gables was one my favourite childhood books, in fact I still love it to this day.

  3. That is absolutely adorable. What a fun way to celebrate books! I think I'd be dressed as any of Jane Austen's characters. As a little gal, I'd have certainly chosen Pippi Longstocking.
