A bit more upcycling has been going on this week. I found a handknitted cardigan at the op shop for $4. I used the easy to follow tutorial from Our Ash Grove and turned this cardigan into not one, but 2 pairs of pants for Leo. These will be perfect for playing in the garden! To the long pants (made with the sleeves) I added a waist band made of stretch rib. I also ended up adding a much larger brown crocheted waistband to the shorties as the rise wasn't long enough to go over a cloth nappy.
In other op shop news I also picked myself up some new shoes for $1!!
Head on over to Frontier Dreams to see what others have been crafting this week!

Hi ~ I just popped by via Frontier Dreams ~ What great up-cycling, I'm sure your little one will love those! I love your 30 before 30 list ~ I think I will have to make one too although mine will have to be a little longer (I am just a little older than 30!) Take care Emily {The Country Mumkin}
ReplyDeleteThanks Emily! I thought the list would be a good way to make myself a bit of a priority this year! Hopefully I can get through the list :)
DeleteI love making pants from sweaters. They are the most comfortable! ( or so it seems!)

I agree! I also don't mind if they get ruined in the garden play :)
DeleteWow...you're inspiring. I need to upcycle more!!! Would you call those shoes "wedges"? They look darling. ♥
ReplyDeleteThanks Marfa! Yes these are wedges....I normally only wear flat shoes and don't even own any shoes that aren't, but these are very easy to wear, no balancing necessary!
