A Patchwork Cover

Over the years I have often collected sheets and doona covers from the op-shop. These are usually used to make gifts of bunting flags or soft toys etc. But I still seem to have let our garage become engulfed in florally linen! As we are hoping to move house in September, I thought I should start going through all my fabric/craft supplies and see what really needs to come with us, and what could be tossed, re-donated or made into new items.

We have a King sized bed and new linen can often be expensive. I really like to get a new set of pillowcases and a doona cover each year, but I decided that I could use up all these thrifted sheets etc and make a new cover. So over the past few days, while Leo has been napping and Roman is having his daily TV time, I have been ironing, measuring and cutting out 25x25 squares.

At this rate it's going to take me longer than I thought, I might have to "cut" into my nightly crochet time!

I had hoped to share my Little Red Riding Hood story puppets today, but I'm not quite finished yet:)

i'd love to try quilting, but I don't like that you have to be so exact!

    1. I'm never exact! I like the homemade look and I am by no means a perfectionist!

  3. I feel the same way about quilting. I love sewing but I am a very laid back about it...one day I would really LOVE to make a quilt for our bedroom...I guess if it's just for our bed it doesn't have to be exact though.... Can't wait to see your project come together!!
