Each row I knit is not matching up with the pattern, so I improvised a bit, and thought I had fixed it. But that cycle went on and on and now it just can't be saved.
I've left it sit for a few months thinking I would try again. Now, each time I think about it I just get sad and frustrated. Not at all how I like to be with knitting.
So out it will come, and I already have plans to turn it into Milo vests for the boys.
I also cast on a Clyde Bonnet (pattern by Elizabeth Murphy) for Caspian this week, only to realise when I reached the decrease section, that I cast on the wrong size! I could have cried!! Of course it's not that big of a deal, but just felt like time wasted.
All is not lost though... I did crochet a cover for my water bottle! Now I'll never not be able to find it.

I feel your pain Shara! So frustrating isn't it, I've been there too with similar projects, though I don't think I'm as adventurous as you are. Nice water bottle - you will stand out in the crowd. cheers Wendy
ReplyDeleteYour water bottle is great. Everyone has knitting disasters, it comes with the territory but it gets better.
ReplyDeleteI have a sweater sitting in a bag that is SO SO close to being done, but it needs to be frogged too because it just isn't right. It's been sitting in that bag for a year and a half while I work up the nerve to pull it all apart. I keep thinking if I find a pattern that just screams out for the yarn I used, it will make the task that much easier to bear.
ReplyDeleteSorry about your project! That's a bummer. Love the water bottle cover-it's very groovy!
ReplyDeleteoh no! how sad to frog something you've worked so long on!
ReplyDeleteOh, bummer. All that work for a frogged project!
ReplyDeleteLove that water bottle cover
I've been there and sometimes we have to make the decision to take it down. I was like that with the Ishbel. Everyone under the sun has made one while I tried three times and every time around the same point things just didn't match up. It's okay.
