Yesterday, I set up a craft activity for the boys. Something really easy, that they could do without direct supervision.
I've had this idea pinned over on Pinterest for ages and finally remembered to buy some autumny coloured tissue paper. Along with some PVA glue, a paint brush each and 2 old jars, I left them with the instructions: rip up the paper, glue it on and Have Fun!!
I think it all worked out great. They enjoyed doing it together, without Mama hovering and they both loved the final product. Especially once we put the candles in.
A beautiful, seasonal, handmade addition to our home.

i'm all for craft activities that kids can do on their own (and have fun while they're at it!).
