A Royal Crown.
I used:
DK yarn
4mm needles
How to:
Cast on 10.
Row 1 - knit
Row 2 - knit
Row 3 - KFAB, knit across
Row 4 - knit
Repeat rows 3 & 4 until you have 20 stitches on the needles, ending with a knit row.
Row 5 - SSK, knit across
Row 6 - knit
Repeat rows 5 & 6 until 10 stitches remain on the needles, ending on a knit row.
Continue increasing and decreasing until your crown fits the head circumference of your royal recipient.
I did 4 peaks and it fits both my 6 & 3 year olds comfortably.
Cast off & Sew together.
Alternatively, you could use a provisional cast on and graft the stitches
OR
cast off and add some Velcro patches to make the crown adjustable for smaller heads.

Great pattern - thanks for posting it.
ReplyDeleteI make birthday crowns out of felt but i love your knitted one! So nice for gifts or even just for play in the dress up basket. Oh and that mustardy colour is my favourite. Thanks so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteVery lovely crown. When I clicked on the icon, I thought it was going to be a basket. I think I know a little girl who would love one. I'll pin it for later use. Thanks.
