New pants for the big boys (with little brother not wanting to miss a photo opportunity!)

I used two pairs of men's corduroy trousers from the op shop. I kept the existing side seams (giving a very baggy, comfy pant), and the original hems. Using this method, means they only take around half an hour to make.

I also grabbed 2 packs of charm squares that I've had in my stash for about 2 years?! So quick and easy when the squares are precut.

For the border and back, I used a cream coloured flannel sheet I found at the op shop and for the inner layers (I haven't got that far yet), I'll use two pieces of flannel sheet that are already in my stash. I'm thinking I'll hand tie it, but I need to look up a tutorial for that method.

Trying hard to use what I have already, to feed my crafting appetite at the moment. I have shelves and boxes full of fabric and yarn, really there is NO need to buy more at the moment.

And that's all that's come off my sewing table this week!

    1. It was my first time using a charm pack, and it was so easy, I'd definitely use them again!

  2. Happy Easter in Autumn Mama Shara. Gorgeous boys! Awesome recycling of corduroy; my favourite pants to wear all in my 20's when I worked in a recycle clothing store. I was going to ask if you were stitching in the ditch or tying knots. The lap quilt I'm in making now will be tied in knots but the squares are quite big and I'm unsure of how many ties should be sufficient.

    1. My blocks are fairly small, but I think I'm going to tie all the neutral blocks?? Hand tied is much softer and homier - x
