Yarn Along...

Unblocked mystery knit a long. Tales from the Isle of Purbeck by AnnieClaire.

Blocking...

Finished!

This was my first time participating in a MKAL and I really loved it. It was so lovely to meet some new knitters and connect on the Ravelry group and the Instagram hashtag.

I used Bendigo Woollen Mills Rustic 8ply in Linen Fleck. It's a great, sheepy smelling wool and after a wash it comes up so soft.

I had a little bit left over, so I made some Picky Pants by Theresa Belville, for the baby. I was struck by how mushroomy the colourway was, so I went ahead and crocheted a little toadstool cap as well! The gorgeous knitted booties (lined with lambs wool) were a gift when Caspian was a baby, from a relative in New Zealand.

And because I've finished almost all my WIPs (almost!), I decided to make something warm and chunky for me. Ages ago I bought a blankets worth of Quince & Co Puffin (in the Honey colourway), but I never could get going with that project. This cowl, a free LionBrand pattern called Briarcliff, used 1.5 skeins of Puffin on 9mm needles. I cast on 96 (I believe the pattern calls for 104), because I didn't want anything too drapey around my neck, I was after a more structured garment. I'm really happy with how it turned out and I've been wearing it a lot.

Another hat for baby, using up some leftover Noro Kureyon, so soft and I love the earthy colours.

That's pretty much it from me this week (she says as if not much was achieved!), looking forward to visiting the yarn alongers this week!
