Mandarin Season

Mandarins are a staple favourite in our house..... we go though kilos of them a week :)

This afternoon we popped around to my Aunts house and raided her tree.

She only has one tree but is barely keeping up. Litres of juice frozen in her freezer, jars of mandarin and lime jam made, giving them away at work and still the parrots are having a feast everyday!

a rather prolific bounty!!

and Mum gave me 2 choko's today. I remember having them as a kid, but not sure what to do with them...how do you cook/eat choko?

  1. The mandarins are amazing...my girls LOVE them, but most of the time we get them canned here, we can get them fresh, occasionally. ♥ I can't believe that there are some that fell on the sidewalk, and she has lots of juice and jam made from them and parrots (they're only pets around here) are feasting on them...sounds like there's a LOT to go around! Your aunt is so sweet.

    1. I never knew you could get them canned! I attribute our abundance of eating citrus in Autumn to the fact Roman never gets sick during the winter!!
