I was inspired to start making a few more seasonal pieces for our home and to start a more seasonal nature table. We currently just have an area that we keep pieces of nature that have been collected on walks or at the beach etc. But now I will start keeping an area just for each season.
Since winter is upon us in Australia, I have been doing a bit of research on Pinterest to get some ideas. We don't have a typical Winter season here in Queensland. No snow for us and only a few trees lose their leave, but the majority stay green.
I think though that King Winter will make a great addition to our table and I will add a Winter Maiden, along with some winter gnomes, maybe gathered around a campfire. I'm never sure about adding faces, I like it without and often find that when I add a face it looks kind of goofy. Maybe I just need to practice more.
What other things might be suitable for a Southern Hemisphere table?
I'm also working on a Red Riding Hood storytelling set, so hopefully I'll get it finished in time to show you all next time!
Today I'm joining in with Nicole at Frontier Dreams for Keep Calm-Craft On :) Lots of good crafty inspiration on her link up!

Your King Winter is delightful, cheers Marie
ReplyDeleteThanks Marie, I love all your work!
DeleteYour King Winter is wonderful. I must work on one for our nature table. And I find it tricky having the Winter nature table too. We don't get snow where we are, and winter is most often cold but clear.
ReplyDeleteThankyou! My Mr 4 keeps asking when the snow will come, because it's cold!
DeleteI love your king winter! It is indeed tricky doing seasonal a table in Australia, we dont have one but in the past I have added winter flowers and needle felted winter veg and children in their winter woolies, a little wool roving as our frost (I have no idea if you get frost in Qld, I've only visited when the weathers been warm!)Its definitely trickier celebrating the seasons when their not as varied as other places
ReplyDeleteOh I adore your King Winter!
ReplyDeleteThanks Nicole! I am glad he turned out so well!
